The Hostal del Carme is one of those perennial meeting points. It was previously situated beside the old N-II road which now passes as a dual carriageway at a kilometre’s distance. The hotel has been renovated and has modern installations and large rooms. The district, l’Urgell, is one of the best areas of Catalonia for cycling at all levels.

1. The Barony of Bellpuig (easy, 3h, 23km, 100m). A circular route passing by hermitages, villages and fields of wheat.
2. The plains of Almenara (easy, 3.5h, 26km, 200m). Beside a section of the Urgell canal to the Almenara viewpoint.
3. Guimerà and the river Corb (difficult, 35km, 5h, 400m). A circular route combining flat lands, valleys and moors.
4. The reclaimed lake of Ivars (easy, 3h, 25km, no important climbs). A circular route to the largest natural lake in Catalonia.
5. Tarrega-Espluga de Francolí (very difficult, 6h, 45km, 800m). Along GR paths and the Cistercian route to the Hostal Senglar of l’Espluga de Francolí.
