The two hotels are located in the little village of Tavascan, in the upper part of the valley.

The Hotel Llacs de Cardós is a traditional hotel with simple yet very welcoming installations.

The Estanys Blaus is a newly built establishment in the typical style of the zone with modern rooms and installations.

From Tavascan we have access to a little-known wild lake zone, which includes the largest natural lake in the Pyrenees, Certascan.

Estanys Blaus
Services: Jacuzzi, sauna, gymnasium, multi-media room.

Activities: A small Alpine and Nordic ski resort, excursions on snow-shoes and cross-country skis, mountain climbing, such as the climb of the Pica d’Estats (the highest mountain in Catalonia), high mountain fishing (with guide), visits to the underground hydro-electric complex.

Routes and Excursions

1. Tavascan – Bosc de Boavi (easy, 3.5h, 250m). A pretty excursion that runs through the valley of the river Boavi to the famous pine and birch grove.

2. The medieval bridges route (easy, 3.15h, 100m) A historical excursion through the Cardós valley.

3. Tavascan-Noarre (easy, 4h, 400m). An excursion to a traditional shepherds’ village.

4. The lakes of the Tavascan mountain pass (intermediate difficulty, 5h, 600m). A beautiful route passing by glacial lakes.

5. The lake of El Diablo and the Campirme peak (difficult, 6h, 900m). A long but technically easy climb to an excellent viewpoint over the central Pyrenees.

6. The Certascan lake (difficult, 6h, 1000m). A spectacular route through the granitic zone of glacial origin to the largest lake in the Pyrenees.

7. The peak of Montroig (very difficult), 8h, 1,300m) a complicated climb through the lakes zone of the most Alpine mountain of the valley.
